ANTIQUE PAIR OF CHINESE CLOISONNÉ CRANES
Cloisonné, derived from the French word “enclosed” is an ancient technique of decorating metalwork objects. This technique is done by soldering silver or gold wires in thin strips placed on edge making small compartments. The compartments are then filled with enamel that can be of any colour. This fine pair of Antique Cloisonné Cranes are a perfect fit on our pair of Antique Cloisonné Tables. They would look equally good on a console or acrylic stand and would add presence to any room. In Chinese culture the crane is considered the prince of all feathered creatures and thus has legendary status. The crane embodies longevity and peace.
Matching Cloissonné Tables sold separately.
